PRESENTATION

Integrated in a true ecological paradise Monte Velho Stud Farm is dedicated to horse breeding of Lusitanos since 1994. Our Stud Farm, constituded from a group of five Alter Real mares, which were crossed initially with the stallion Xaquiro, have always had the goal of creating well conformed horses morphologically and especially with very good gaits. No less important was the demand of an excellent character, which would guarantee its rideability.

Most of our horses show a great aptitude for dressage which is the main objective of the Stud Farm. As a result of this strategy, based on a very professional team, Monte Velho started having results which makes it one of the most prestigious Stud Farms of Lusitano Horse Breding. The numerous awards, both in gaits (four times Champion of Champions), both in dressage competition, are proof of the effort.

We are a small Stud Farm with five mares, extremely focused on quality. Imboa, Paxá, Praxe, Pagão, Queixosa, Quixote, Assalto, Afonso Henriques, Urquilho, Dihamante, Equador, Esquadra, are some examples of award-winning animals of Monte Velho Stud Farm.
